Applications are invited for one or more position(s) in product development, innovation, and industry collaboration at the section for Innovation and Design Engineering (IDE), Department of Technology and Innovation, Faculty of Engineering, University of Southern Denmark in Odense. The position is available from August 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The applicant should have a proven research record and experience in one or more of the following fields and be able to contribute to the development of the section’s research areas:
– Industrial collaboration, new technologies, and innovation
– Corporate responsible/sustainable organizational practices in innovation and product development, including consumer studies
– Design of change, transformation and innovation processes
– Digital management and automatization processes in a social context
– Creative leadership and innovation for social impact
The position involves participation in teaching activities, including teaching courses and supervising student projects in the M.Sc. Eng. Program in Product Development and Innovation, which is a program that is 1/3 social science and business and 2/3 engineering and management sciences. Also, the candidate will be involved in various research related activities based on external funding as well as developing new courses and participating in teaching in the section’s summer schools.
Assistant professorship
The assistant professorship is a 3-year temporary position and requires completion of the Danish University Teaching Education certificate as part of the position.
Associate professorship
The associate professorship is a permanent position with obligation to research and teaching. Applicants for the associate professorship are required to possess research qualifications at level equivalent to what is achieved by a satisfactorily completed period of employment as assistant professor. Also, applicants are required to have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and to have obtained a positive assessment of his or her teaching qualifications.
Requirements and qualifications
Candidates must have:
– A PhD degree in innovation/product development, or organization studies, change or digital management, or adjacent field, preferably with a technology-centric approach.
– Documented experience with research dissemination in international scientific journals and conferences
– Experience with research in industrial collaboration and responsible/sustainable companies is expected
– Team-working skills in addition to self-motivation
– Excellent communication skills in English – oral and written
– Participation in Danish courses for non-Danish speaking applicants is expected for permanent positions
The successful candidate should have a proven knowledge of industrial innovation processes. Experience with responsible/sustainable organizations as well as change and transformation processes in corporate settings will be considered a strong merit. Further experience in communicating and teaching aforementioned skills will likewise be seen as meritorious.
The successful candidate should preferably have a proven capability and experience with participation in larger research projects and as collaborating with existing faculty groups on joint national and international research projects and participating in attracting external research funding is expected.
