Applications are invited for one or more positions as teaching Associate Professor position(s). The applicants are expected to teach on educations, summer schools, PhD courses, electives etc. affiliated with the section SDU Global Sustainable Production. The section is currently active in the engineering educations Global Management and Manufacturing (B.Sc.), Operations Management (M.Sc) and Experts in Teams.

The position is available from July 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The applicant should have a strong interest in global sustainable production. The applicant should also have a proven teaching record in one or more of the following fields and be able to contribute to the development of the section’s teaching activities.

  • Global manufacturing
  • Global Supply chain management
  • Global Sustainable supply chains
  • Team collaboration for innovation
  • Automation and supply chains
  • Statistics/econometrics, data analytics and global supply chains
  • New technologies and global supply chains

The positions involves participation in teaching activities, including teaching courses and supervising student projects in the various education, development of the educations, summer schools, and so forth. The applicant should also be prepared to take on larger responsibilities related to educational coordination and other teaching activities at the university.

The successful applicant will be part of SDU section of Global Sustainable Production, which is engaged in various types of research, teaching, consultancy, training and dissemination activities related to (global) sustainable production, globalization of sustainable innovation and global sustainable supply chains. The section is new and has experienced a rapid growth, therefore the candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-changing environment where new activities surface almost daily. The section has undertaken much research within the field of work environment and priorities a good work environment. The successful candidate is supposed to contribute to the development of the section and is therefore expected to work from the campus.

Associate professorship

The associate professorship is a permanent teaching position; the position does not involve research. Applicants for the associate professorship are required to possess research qualifications at level equivalent to what is achieved by a satisfactorily completed period of employment as assistant professor, post doc, amanuensis or similar. Also, applicants are required to have received supervision and pedagogical upgrading and to have obtained a positive assessment of his or her teaching qualifications.

Requirements and qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • A PhD degree in engineering or science or a related field. Candidate without a PhD and candidates from humanities and social sciences will not be considered for the positions. The candidates should demonstrate:
  • Documented experience with research dissemination in international scientific journals and conferences
  • Team-working skills in addition to self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills in English – oral and written.
  • Participation in Danish courses for non-Danish speaking applicants is expected for permanent positions.
  • Documented experience of teaching within fields similar or closely related to the educations, the section is active in.

Conditions of employment

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Employment as an associate professor requires scientific qualifications at PhD level.

Requirements for the position
In order to be considered for the position, the applicant must have at least three years of professional experience and a relevant master's degree or a relevant engineering education.

As part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s qualifications, the applicant may be called for interview.
