The Department of Marketing & Management in Odense now welcomes applications for an exciting full-time position as research assistant for a period of 1 year with the possibility of extension, starting September 1st, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Research within the Department is anchored in an understanding of the cooperation between markets, organizations and individuals. It encompasses a variety of areas from evolutionary models of organization to new forms of consumption. It is the ambition of the Department to be in the international frontline in these areas and to seek synergy between research, teaching and knowledge dissemination.
The Department addresses social challenges and exchange knowledge with society through high-quality study programmes such as the BSc and MSc in Economics & Business Administration, Market & Management Anthropology as well as a wide vary of course across SDU’s 5 faculties.

What will you be doing?
As the research assistant for the Vice Head of Department (VILU), your tasks will include research, dissemination and administrative support for the development of study programmes and activities. Tasks will include but not be limited to:
Research at the Department is organized in five research units; Consumption, Culture & Commerce, International Business & Entrepreneurship, Integrative Innovation Management, Management of People, Strategic Organizational Design. As the Vice Head of Department is affiliated with the unit of Consumption, Culture & Commerce, the RA will be affiliated with the same research unit.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for ambitious and committed candidates, who can work independently and systematically. It is important that candidates have an interest for research as well as pedagogy, and will enjoy interacting regularly with teachers and administrative staff across SDU. As the RA will be working together with the VILU on multiple projects in parallel, we are looking for candidates with the ability to approach their work in a proactive and flexible, but also structured way.
To fulfill the requirements of the positions, we expect you to be physically present at SDU Odense on a daily basis and to be actively engaged in the various activities at the Department’s academic and administrative environment.

Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee. The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.
When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her.The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the Head of Department who will assemble an appointments committee. The appointments committee will manage and complete the job interviews, should such be conducted.
Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements will not be assessed by the committee.
Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process.

- Collecting, processing and analyzing data relative to research projects and study programmes
- Support for the management of study activities
- Participation in the development of new pedagogic initiatives
- Contact with alumni and employers for the graduates of our programmes
- Teaching assignments such as supervision of student projects or lecturing

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Critical thinking competences
- Mastery of Danish and English, both written and spoken at a high level
- A master’s degree in Business Economics or a similar degree in or relevant to one of the above-mentioned research areas within our Department
In our evaluation of the applications we will prioritize:
- Academic competences, i.e. the quality of academic diplomas, grades etc.
- Previous experience with research and teaching
