Applications are invited for a position as associate professor at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics.
The Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics has a strong background in sports science with one focus being on healthy and active ageing and prevention of functional loss and disability. The associate professor position will be based at the Center for Active and Healthy Ageing which is strongly connected to the Research Unit Muscle Physiology and Biomechanics.
The applicant will be expected to demonstrate highly profiled and well-documented research experience related to the fields of exercise, physical activity, sedentary behavior and nutrition. Hands-on knowledge on assessment of physical activity and sedentary behavior using self-report and objective methodologies will be considered relevant qualifications. Documented experience in conducting and managing research projects is a requisite for the job.
Relevant experience within the field of ageing and epidemiology is considered a priority. Furthermore, the associate professor will be expected to attract research funding within the above-mentioned areas.
The position involves lecturing at the bachelor, master and PhD levels (e.g. applied physiology). Applicants must show documented teaching and supervising experience at all graduate levels.
The applicant must have a PhD degree and be able to show documented research work (i.e. peer-reviewed papers, conference presentations) that complies with the Research Profile described above and good communication skills for scientific and non-scientific audience. Administrative and other skills that are relevant to subject specialization and the tasks of the position will be expected.
