Applications are invited for a Professorship in Muscle and Exercise Physiology at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, the Muscle Physiology and Biomechanics research unit.
The professorship will be based in the Muscle Physiology and Biomechanics research unit, and the successful applicant will be expected to function as head of the research unit and to be a proactive and driving force in the development of the unit with focus on the adaptive plasticity of skeletal muscle in response to physical activity and exercise, inactivity, aging and health.
The applicant must have a PhD degree and will be expected to demonstrate highly profiled research and extensive experience in publication at the highest international level within the area of muscle function and exercise metabolism, as well as in research management and strategic development. In addition, the applicant, must have documented experience in supervision and teaching at all levels, as well as study administration. A strong track record of participation in international networks and task forces is a prerequisite. The candidate must also have experience as leader of a research group and the ability to develop and lead research projects and demonstrate external honorary assignments and representation of the discipline nationally and internationally.

The successful applicant for the professorship will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

- a teaching portfolio detailing the candidate’s prior teaching experience, teaching skills, and teaching philosophy
- a research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work.
