A position as postdoc is vacant from January 1, 2021 at the Laboratory of Per Svenningsen, Research Unit of Cardiovascular and Renal Research at the Department of Molecular Medicine. The position is for one year with possibility of extension.
Job description
We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work in the field of obesity-induced endothelial dysfunction with focus on examining the role of exosomes for endothelial health.
The applicant will be expected to conduct his/her research in vascular biology with focus on understanding the role of endothelial-derived exosomes for obesity-induced endothelial dysfunction. The applicant will also be expected to explore the potential of modulating exosome signaling pathways to identify novel therapeutic targets against endothelial dysfunction.
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for the planning of the project as well as data acquisition, preparation and analysis, manuscript writing, and other activities for disseminating the results. Furthermore, the candidate will be expected to apply for research funding from external funding agencies.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

- Obtained a Ph.D. in a relevant area, e.g., biological and biomedical sciences, vascular biology, molecular biology, or another closely related discipline.
- Proven experience and knowledge with animal models of disease is a major requirement.
- Ability to work structured and independently.
- Good communication skills and high proficiency in English.
- Good collaborative and social abilities.
- Prior experience with myography, imaging, molecular cloning, and adeno-associated viruses. This is considered a plus.
