The Research Units of Nuclear Medicine and Neurosurgery at the Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark invite applications for a post doc position within the field of preclinical molecular PET/MR imaging of brain cancer for a collaborative project funded by the Danish Cancer Society. The position is available from 1st of August 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter, initially for one year, with the possibility of extension.
The project concerns the development of new and promising anticancer agents for targeted radionuclide therapy and PET/MR imaging of brain cancer using radiolabeled nanoparticles. The project will focus on imaging-based evaluation and characterization of the new biocompatible nanoparticles using an advanced brain-cancer pig model. The nanoparticles will be conjugated with positron-emitting radionuclides to allow for their in vivo pharmacokinetic characterization using PET/MR-imaging, compartment modelling and ex vivo autoradiography of tissues. The knowledge obtained in the project will be essential for future translation of our new therapeutic strategy to brain cancer patients.
The applicant will be part of a highly multidisciplinary national/international team of basic and clinical scientists from the Research Units of Nuclear Medicine and Neurosurgery, the Hevesy Laboratory at the Danish Technical University and the British company Renishaw.
