A three years PhD position is available from September 2021 in the team of Associate Professor Paolo Ceppi at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the University of Southern Denmark. The research group is interested in unravelling novel fundamental mechanisms that govern the plasticity of cancer cells in solid tumors, with a special focus on the impact of metabolic pathways on cancer stemness, EMT and chemoresistance. The lab is located in the SDU Main Campus in Odense, Denmark.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information on salary and taxation.
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).

Eligibility requirements:
- A master’s degree or equivalent within the field of cell or molecular biology.
- Knowledge and practical experience in basic techniques (cell cultures, western blotting, qPCR, cloning, immunofluorescence, etc.).
- Strong motivation, ability to work independently and an open-minded interest in cancer research.
- Good English level (written and oral) and strong communication skills.
