SDU Chemical Engineering (ChE) invites applications for a position as assistant or associate professor in analytical chemistry. The selected candidate is expected to start December 2021 or soon thereafter. The successful candidate will apart from developing her/his own research field also be expected to support and engage in research in fields falling within or in strong synergy with one or more of the current research areas of ChE:
The successful candidate is expected engage in internationally competitive research activities. Commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level is also expected. The position thus holds a high level of responsibility, but also comes with influence and opportunity to develop and deliver research and education to the highest international level.
ChE is part of the Department for Green Technology (IGT), at the Faculty of Engineering at SDU.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree within chemistry, chemical engineering or closely related fields and will be expected to teach and instruct students who participate in bachelor and master courses.
Owing to the increasingly international focus of the degree programs, applicants must demonstrate ability to teach in English. If the successful applicant is not fluent in Danish, he or she will be expected to learn Danish within a period of approximately two years.
Applications will be assessed by an expert committee. Applicants will be informed of their assessment by the Faculty.
As part of the overall assessment of the applicant’s qualifications, the applicant may be called for interview.
Employment shall be on the terms specified in the labor market agreement with the opportunity for individual negotiation.

- Analytical techniques for characterizing and quantifying chemical compounds, preferable natural products in plants, including potential bioactive substances.
- Hands-on Experience with HPLC, GC, preferably LC-MS and GC-MS
- Identification of chemical compounds using FTIR, MS and NMR

- innovation and bringing research results to the market
- research at Post Doc level or beyond
- attracting competitive research funding
- collaborating with industry
- experience with coordinating research in or heading an analytical chemical laboratory
- teaching at university level
