The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark offers a full-time PhD position in the field of stochastic differential equations. The topic of the PhD project will be in the area of numerical analysis of stochastic differential equations including geometric numerical integration and the development of statistical estimation procedures.
The successful candidate
• holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics,
• has documented experience in the fields of theory or numerical solution of stochastic differential equations, as well as basic knowledge of differential geometry and advanced knowledge of statistics,
• has documented experience in high-performance computing,
• has excellent writing and oral skills in English and an ability to work independently.
The position is expected to be filled by 1 February 2022. Application deadline: 29 December 2021.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is located at the main campus of the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three years. Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information on salary and taxation.
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
