The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark invites applicants for full professor positions in Computer Science. We are flexible with respect to the starting date, but expect this to be in 2022 or early in 2023. Application deadline: 10 March 2022.
The research activities within Computer Science at the department are organized into three main sections:
• Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Programming Languages focusing on choreographic programming, distributed computing (cloud, edge, IoT, microservices), Dev(Sec)Ops, formal methods, logic, knowledge representation, post-quantum and embedded cryptography
• Data Science and Statistics focusing on data science, data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence and bioinformatics
• Algorithms focusing on online algorithms, graph algorithms, combinatorial optimization, algorithmic cheminformatics, cryptography and data structures.
In addition to these areas, research at the department covers a wide area of topics in pure and applied mathematics and mathematical didactics.
The department offers degrees on BSc, MSc and PhD levels in computer science and mathematical areas. The department delivers service teaching in computer science and mathematics across the university.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for new colleagues from all fields in Computer Science who can either strengthen or complement the current research in Computer Science at our department. An ideal candidate should have a research track record in Computer Science corresponding to professor level, as well as documented experience of
• teaching at different levels within computer science;
• student supervision;
• third-party funding;
• service to the research community;
• outreach outside academia, for example to industry, other organizations, or society.
A successful applicant is expected to participate in teaching and supervision at all levels, deliver excellent research and compete successfully for third-party funding. A successful applicant is also expected to contribute with support and direction for the development of the relevant research field as well as the strategic development of the department.

• A brief survey of the applicant's most important research results and research plans for the next three years.
