DCA-LAB, which is a research group branching out from the Research Unit of Clinical Biochemestry, Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark, seeks a research assistant to join the DCA lab for a period of two years with a possibility of extension.
The position is available as of March 1, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Scientific aim in DCA-lab
Overall, our lab utilizes regenerative medicine to improve heart repair following myocardial infarction. Specifically, we work on limiting the fibrotic response after MI as well as to identify novel mechanisms to compensate the loss of cardiomyocytes through either iPS derived cardiomyocytes or cardiomyocyte proliferation. The projects are financed by the Sapere Aude research program from the Danish Research Council and the Ascending Investigator grant program from the Lundbeck Foundation as well as the Biomedicine program from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. At DCA-lab we all strive to reach the same goal working as a solid team and making all projects synergetic.
Job description
The candidate will sustain the different projects when needed at all levels practically, participating in cell work both basically and clinically pipelines as well in animal studies. Moreover, data analysis, administrative work related to tasks of the PI in the group as well as general management of the lab are parts of the position together with two PIs, three technicians, 3-4 postdocs and 2 PhDs. Supervision in the lab of team members and students will be expected generally.

Qualifications and expectations
The applicant will be expected to have a master’s degree in Cell Biology/Molecular Biology/Biomedicine/or similar.
Documented cell culturing skills are required and an animal work license is a clear advantage. The candidate will be expected to be able to communicate fluently in spoken and written English.
Salary and terms of employment
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
The qualifications of the applicant will be assessed by an expert committee.
