PhD positions starting in summer 2022 are available at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) for research on exciting projects in algorithmic aspects of cheminformatics. Application deadline: 11 April 2022.
We are seeking excellent and highly motivated individuals with an MSc degree in computer science or a related subject (5+3 programme) or with 60 ECTS completed within their Master's degree (4+4 programme). The ideal candidate has familiarity with one or more of the following areas: Algorithmics, concurrency theory, graph transformation, algorithm engineering, systems chemistry, or systems biology. Proven competences in programming and ease with formal thinking are a necessity.
The goal of the PhD project will be to develop ground-breaking computational methods applicable to the analysis of large networks of chemical reactions.
The Algorithmic Cheminformatics group at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at SDU offers a dynamic research environment, comprising two full professors, an associate professor, three postdocs, and several students.

Appointment as a PhD Research Fellow is for three (students who have completed their MSc) or four years (students who have not yet completed their
MSc). Employment stops automatically at the end of the period. The holder of the scholarship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement on salaried PhD scholars between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Please check links for more information on salary and taxation.
The successful candidate will be enrolled at this university in accordance with faculty regulations and the Danish Ministerial Order on the PhD Programme at the Universities (PhD order).
