The Department of Psychology, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense, Denmark, embedded within the Faculty of Health Sciences, invites applications for a full professorship in health psychology with expertise or interest in pain psychology.
The Department of Psychology has been built up over the last 12 years and forms the research basis for the bachelor and master’s degree programmes in psychology at the University of Southern Denmark.
The research foci are currently organised into 6 research groups, with our academic staff members participating in one or more of the research groups.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A highly motivated and ambitious candidate with a broad profile in health psychology and an interest or expertise in pain psychology. You will be expected to teach in health and pain psychology at the BSc and MSc levels and to supervise students’ theses.
You will contribute actively to the environment of the department through the following activities:

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

• A research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Continued course development in health and pain psychology
- Teaching and supervision at the BSc, MSc and PhD levels
- Contributing to the research environment of the department through joint grant applications with other members of staff and the establishment of national and international collaborations
- Management tasks
We expect you to have:
- A master’s degree in psychology
- A PhD degree in psychology
- Pedagogical and didactic qualifications and competences
- Documented teaching experience in delivering high quality undergraduate and graduate teaching that includes development of teaching plans/materials, examination, supervision of bachelor and masters’ students and use of innovative teaching methods.
- Experience with post graduate teaching and training of multidisciplinary personnel in health psychology and psychological intervention methods
- Strong subject, methodological and clinical competencies in health psychology
- Extensive research track record in the field of health psychology as evidenced by high-impact international publications in the field of expertise
- The competences and interest in developing and coordinating research activities related to health and pain psychology
- Good communicative and collaborative skills and ability to build national and international networks
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- A track record in raising external funding
