A position as Postdoc (20% time) is vacant at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery research unit, Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and at the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Odense University Hospital (OUH). The position is limited to 4 years with the possibility of extension.
The current research lines of the Research unit of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery include optimizing oral hygiene during hospitalization, optimizing 3D surgical treatment planning and reducing oral complications (osteonecrosis of the jaws) after antiresorptive treatment.
Research tasks
The position as a postdoc includes research, teaching, professional development, and guidance in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with focus on research in patient pathways involving patients, relatives and healthcare professionals. It will be expected that the new postdoc develops her/his own research area in collaboration with the research areas at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery research unit.
The postdoc will be expected to be responsible, for organizing the content and presentation of a module of MSc in Nursing and to be actively involved in guidance and supervision of MSc and PhD students affiliated with SDU.
Expectations of qualifications
The potential applicant must have a ph.d.-degree and documented research experience in one or more of the areas/fields mentioned below:
Potential applicants must be postdoc-qualified in accordance with the Danish Ministerial Order on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities.

• a teaching portfolio detailing the candidate’s prior teaching experience, teaching skills, and teaching philosophy
• a research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work.

Expectations of qualifications

- Research experience in qualitative research methods with a broad methodological knowledge.
- Research experience in developing knowledge of patient pathways, user involvement and health technology
- Research experience in publishing in international peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of nursing
- Documented educational skills including teaching and supervising students
