The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense, invites applications for a position as professor in Health Informatics and Technology.
SDU Health Informatics and Technology (SDU HIT) strives to develop novel and ready to deploy technical solutions in a transdisciplinary manner. SDU HIT has a large portfolio of transdisciplinary projects involving numerous partners from healthcare, academia, industry and network organizations.
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute is an internationally recognized research department with strong research units in robotics, drones, artificial intelligence, software engineering, energy informatics, and health informatics and technology.

Job description and expected profile
Candidates for this position must have a solid research background within (at least one, preferably several, of) the following fields:

Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in electrical or biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
In the assessment of candidates, emphasis and consideration will be given to:
The successful candidate is expected to develop and engage in a vigorous research program, and actively participate in attracting external research funding in close collaboration with colleagues and management.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide outstanding education, supervise bachelor, master and PhD level students.

Conditions of employment

- Biomedical electrical instrumentation circuits
- Bioelectromagnetism
- Bioimpedance analysis
- Wearable sensor devices
- Unobtrusive acquisition of physiological signals
- Camera based vital sign monitoring
- Signal processing and machine learning methods for biomedical sensors pain
Experience in the following application areas will be considered benefits:
- Neurocritical monitoring
- Driver state estimation
- Tissue analysis
Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in electrical or biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
In the assessment of candidates, emphasis and consideration will be given to:
- Research demonstrated by publications in relevant scientific journals and conferences
- Experience in interdisciplinary research collaboration
- Experience with medical studies
- A relevant international network for research and collaboration activities, research experience abroad
- Experience in attracting funding for research projects, and demonstrated experience in research leadership, also in projects with multiple partners (e.g. EU projects)
