The Research Unit for Musculoskeletal Function and Physiotherapy (FOF), Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, invites applications for a position as associate professor in musculoskeletal health in sports to be filled as of 1 January 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The candidate will be expected to initiate and conduct research, teach and supervise bachelor, master and PhD students.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a solid research output within research in musculoskeletal health in sports and be motivated to be actively involved in achieving the research unit’s vision. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate successful management of research projects and success with external funding. It will be expected that the candidate is able to develop an independent tailored research profile in synergy with the research unit’s and the department’s strategies, and that the candidate has the motivation and ability to take leadership in scientific, educational and departmental development. Further, it will be expected that the candidate is able to disseminate research-based knowledge internationally and nationally to relevant stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be expected to have the capacity to develop and manage courses at the Master of Science in Physiotherapy programme, to teach classes in the bachelor and master programmes offered at the Faculty of Health Sciences and to mentor undergraduate and PhD students.

Candidates with the following skills will be prioritized:
- A PhD degree within a field relevant to the position
- Experience with injury epidemiology, aetiology and prevention
- Experience with musculoskeletal research
- Documented track record within educational development, teaching and supervision, including professional postgraduate teacher training
- Experience with implementation of research projects with end-user involvement
- Competence in knowledge exchange activities and public dissemination
- Strong international research collaborations
- Motivation for a multidisciplinary research approach and collaboration across the organisation
