A position as Associate Professor (20%) is vacant at the Research Unit for Digital Psychiatry, Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark and at the Centre for Digital Psychiatry at the Mental Health Services in the Region of Southern Denmark.
The position is limited to 5 years with the possibility of extension.
The academic position
The position as Associate Professor involves research, professional development, research education, teaching, supervision, and assessment work within the field of internet-based interventions for mental health problems.
The Associate Professor will be expected to contribute to the evidence-base for providing internet-based therapy interventions at scale by establishing a close link to the digital clinic at the Centre for Digital Psychiatry. Specifically, the Associate Professor is expected to conduct research of clinical effect and patterns of symptom development of common mental health disorders in both routine care and in randomized controlled trials. Furthermore, the Associate Professor is expected to investigate the use of novel formats of delivery of digital treatments including individualized treatments and use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence.
The Research Unit for Digital Psychiatry
The aim of the Research Unit for Digital Psychiatry is to provide the necessary evidence base for promising digital mental health solutions, enhancing patient and healthcare provider uptake of digital technologies in mental health, and spurring public-private collaboration and development in digital mental health research and practice. The research unit has a strong emphasis on translational and applied clinical research of novel use of technology into the field of mental health. There is a close connection to the Centre for Digital Psychiatry, which ensures the implementation of promising technology and service delivery into routine practice. Centre for Digital Psychiatry has been at the forefront of developing and implementing internet-based services in Denmark. Thus, Internet-based therapy interventions are a special research priority.
Expectations of qualifications
The Associate Professor must be employed as a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist at the Centre for Digital Psychiatry in the Mental Health Services in the Region of Southern Denmark. The Associate Professor must have documented research experience within the areas of internet-based interventions and the treatment of psychiatric diagnoses. In addition, good cooperation skills are expected in order to further the development of research in the areas mentioned above, both interdisciplinary as well as nationally and internationally. International research partners will be expected.

Danish language skills are not required initially. However, these are expected to be mastered within the first 2 years of employment.

Salary and terms of employment
The applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

- A PhD degree or equivalent post-graduate research qualification
- Relevant research experience documented by publications in international peer-reviewed journals
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to implement Internet-based treatments in routine care
- Relevant clinical experience in psychology or psychiatry
- Successful track record in obtaining research funding
