The research unit International Business & Entrepreneurship (IBE) within the Department of Business & Management (DBM) welcomes applications for one or more exciting full-time positions as research assistants. The positions will be located in Odense and are available from April 1st 2023 and until August 31st 2025.
Who are your new colleagues?
The research unit focuses specifically on the international business activities of B2B companies within the setting of an increasingly internationalized world. The research unit is engaged in two major research themes: International business and international entrepreneurship with special emphasis on international activities of small and medium-sized firms, international market relationships, entry modes, and business models in general. The unit is currently developing additional research expertise in emerging markets, sustainability, and industry 4.0 consequences for international business and international entrepreneurship. The goal of the research unit is to contribute to an improved understanding of the emergence, growth, and survival of firms in diverse markets, through the study of the organization of marketing and strategic activities both within the firm and through the interplay with other actors on the market. DBM works both quantitatively and qualitatively to build bridges between applied and fundamental research. The Department houses seven vibrant research units (Accounting, Centre for Integrative Innovation Management, Consumption, Culture & Commerce, Finance, International Business & Entrepreneurship, Management of People, and Strategic Organization Design) whose work is anchored in an understanding of the relationships between markets, organizations and individuals. It encompasses a variety of areas from evolutionary models of organization to new exotic forms of consumption and seeks synergy between research, teaching and knowledge exchange.

As our new research assistant, you will be assisting the research unit with a variety of tasks such as:

We are looking for ambitious and committed candidates, who can work independently, systematic and structured. To fulfill the requirements of the positions, we expect you to be physically present at SDU Odense on a daily basis and to be actively engaged in the various activities at the Department’s academic environment.

When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her.
The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the Head of Department who will assemble an appointments committee. The appointments committee will manage and complete the job interviews, should such be conducted.
Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements may be rejected without any substantive evaluation.
Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process.

- supervision of student projects
- assisting researchers with research projects including project coordination
- collecting, processing and analyzing data
- administrative tasks
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for ambitious and committed candidates, who can work independently, systematic and structured. To fulfill the requirements of the positions, we expect you to be physically present at SDU Odense on a daily basis and to be actively engaged in the various activities at the Department’s academic environment.
We expect you to have:
- Good interpersonal skills
- Master English both written and spoken at a high level
- Danish language skills are preferred
- A master’s degree in Business Economics or another relevant degree
In our evaluation of the applications, we will prioritize:
- Academic competences, i.e., the quality of academic diplomas, grades etc.
- Previous experience with teaching or research
