The Danish Centre for Health Economics (DaCHE) at the Department of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is expanding!

We are looking for qualified and enthusiastic applicants to fill three postdoc positions in Health Economics. If required, a temporary position as research assistant is available for candidates whose PhD thesis is under assessment.

The positions will run for a period of three (perhaps four) years. The date of employment is negotiable.

Job description

DaCHE has recently received funding from the Danish Independent Research Council, the Carlsberg Foundation, the European Commission and other sources.

We have many exciting research projects starting up, which is why we are looking to expand our research group with highly qualified candidates.

Are you interested in studying how physicians’ motivation and wellbeing impact their delivery of health care? Alternatively, could you be interested in exploring how organisations are best incentivised to ensure coherence in care? Or how choice and competition policies impact quality, costs and equity in public health care delivery? Or perhaps you could be interested in studying barriers to efficient and equitable delivery of dental health care? And/or assessing the cost-effectiveness of new and innovative cancer treatments? These research questions are related to the specific projects that have recently been funded. As part of the employment process and based on your skills and interests, we will agree with you which specific projects you will be contributing to.

At DaCHE we are dedicated to applying economic theory and empirical methods to answer research questions of high relevance for health policy, and to contribute to the improvement of research methods. Our main research themes are

1) health-relatedbehaviour, incentives and motivation;
2) understanding barriers and facilitators that hinder/enhance equity in health and access to health care;
3) eliciting patients' and the public’s preferences and values; and
4) evaluating effects of new interventions/policies in health care.

We apply a broad set of methods in our research including register-based analysis, and enrichment of register data through the collection of survey data. We design our own surveys including survey experiments (e.g. stated preference experiments). We offer courses at the bachelor and master level in Health Economics, Evaluation, Economic Evaluation, Economics of Prevention, Methods of Evaluation, Pharmacoeconomics, and Registry Analysis. Postdocs will be expected to contribute to teaching tasks.
