A 2-year postdoc fellowship is available in the Palner Lab at the Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark and at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Odense University Hospital, starting on August 1st 2023.

Research project
The project aims to quantify immunological markers in treatment as well as proliferation responses. Using immunohistochemistry, flow-cytometry and microscopy, your project will identify and quantify tumor and neuronal responses to a novel antibody based immunological treatment and the proliferation properties of serotonergic psychedelics, like psilocybin.
Your project will be part of the Palner Lab’s efforts to identify brain circuit changes in maladaptive neuronal disorders, like anxeity and obesssive compulsive disorder. And to understand the mechanisms of serotonergic psychedelics. You will be part of a diverse team with excellent skills in behavioral pharmacology and small animal imaging, with the possibility to expand your own research in these directions.
In 2023, the Palner Lab will move to a new state-of-the-art location in connection with the University of Southern Denmark. New and excellent space for animal experiments, small animal imaging and cellular sciences are all part of the new neuroscience department. In addition, the SDU Flow Cytometry Core Facility offers the best equibment availeble for advanced flow cytometry, while SDU imaging offer state-of-the-art microscopy facilities.

Your key responsibilities will be to
- Establish and grow tumor and neuronal cell lines.
- Carry out experiments related to measuring immunological markers in cell lines and from in vivo derived tissue cultures.
- Report results to collaborators, international conferences, and journals.
- Keep track of stakeholders in the collaboration.
We are looking for a colleague who is
- A Ph.D. in cell biology, neuroscience, or related field.
- Experienced in cell culturing, from established and in vivo derived cell.
- Experienced with immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent in English.
- Social and a collaborator
- Knowledgeable of microscopy and image analysis
