The Department of Business & Management (DBM) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in an ambitious large-scale EU Horizon Europe project under the supervision of Anna Schneider-Kamp. The position is located at SDU’s Campus in Odense and is vacant from 1st August or soon thereafter. The appointment will be made for an initial term of 12 months, with an expectation that the already secured funding will cover a total fellowship duration between 24-30 months.
Job description
This fellowship will provide the unique chance to perform high-impact qualitative research in a world-leading interdisciplinary consortium aiming to improve the health and well-being of European citizens by identifying and addressing sociocultural barriers and facilitators of prevention programs.
The ideal candidate has a background in or experience with one or both of the following topics:
The main tasks of the successful applicant include
The applicant is expected to hold a PhD degree relevant to the topics of the fellowship. Such a degree might be in Medical Sociology, Public Health, Medical Anthropology, Medical Humanities, or another area related to qualitative research and/or sociocultural determinants of health. Due to the international nature of the project, fluency in written and oral English is required. Experience with collaborative interdisciplinary research projects is a plus.
PhD candidates about to complete will also be considered and should attach a statement from their supervisors regarding their impending completion.

The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the Head of Department who will assemble an appointments committee. The appointments committee will manage and complete the job interviews, should such be conducted.
Shortlisting and tests may be used in the assessment process.

- Designing a qualitative study on sociocultural barriers and facilitators of prevention programs,
- Coordinating the execution of the qualitative study in close collaboration with international project partners, and
- Synthesizing deep insights on sociocultural mechanisms regarding the (non)adherence with screening and prevention programs.
