The freshwater group at the Department of Biology at SDU is looking for a motivated research assistant in the field of sustainable lake management by 1 August 2023. Application deadline: 4 July 2023.
The full-time two-year position will mainly, but not exclusively, focus on monthly sediment and water sampling campaigns, followed by laboratory work. The work is part of a larger project which monitors a Danish lake before, during, and after lake restoration with focus on the sediment.

The successful candidate should fulfil the following requirements:
- Master in biology or environmental sciences
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Ability to prepare and conduct monthly fieldwork (physical fitness, boat steering, driver’s license B)
- Knowledge in sampling, preparation, and analyses of general water quality parameters
- Good skills in sampling and handling of sediment cores
- Strong knowledge and experience in sequential phosphorus extraction with handling of large sample numbers
- Skills in handling of DGT and DET probes
- Good data management skills
- Team-spirit
- Good communication skills in both Danish and English.
