Consultancy in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry combined with a clinical professorship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special focus on Psychotherapy

A clinical position as consultant of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand is open for appointment from as soon as possible.

The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special focus on Psychotherapy at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

With this new position the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.

It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is part of the mental health services in Region Zealand. It comprises three units for inpatients with forty beds in total, three general outpatient services and three specialized outpatients units. The inpatient wards and most of the outpatient units are located in the city of Roskilde. Moreover, we have an outpatient service in Holbæk and another in Næstved.

The department covers a region with about 880.000 citizens.

Clinical functions and focus areas of the department.

The department is responsible for all general psychiatric services in the region including acute treatment for children and adolescents from 0 to 17 years of age. Moreover, we have the specialized clinical investigation and treatment of adolescents with schizophrenia, affective disorders, mental retardation in combination with psychiatric disorders, complex neuropsychiatric disorders, eating disorders, investigation and treatment of infants and toddlers below 3 years of age, and somatoform disorders. Further, the Centre for Eating Disorders in Roskilde treats both adolescents and adult patients on a specialized basis.

Research and teaching

With the new position as consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and clinical professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with special focus on Psychotherapy the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.

Qualifications

Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Conditions

In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at the department.

Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.

As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the Head of the Department of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand . The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full time secretary position from the department of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand . Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the Head of the Department of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Region Zealand.
