Social Hearing Science researcher and study coordinator at the Eriksholm Research Centre, Denmark

It is an 18 month position with the possibility of extension.

Do you have an extensive knowledge of clinical audiology and person-centered research? Would you like to be part of developing solutions that support people with hearing loss and their clinicians? Would you like to become part of a world class audiology research centre? Does facilitating research with partners around the world sound like your dream job? It is an attractive proposition to become part of a team of scientists whose work with academic partners leads to the development of novel products and services in Demant?

Then you might be the new Social Hearing Science researcher we are looking for!

Your team and tasks

You will become part of the Social Hearing Science team, that consists of five dedicated researchers with a strong international track record and an interdisciplinary perspective of social hearing research. With your new colleagues, you will be responsible for researching solutions that can transform clinical audiology with flexible, person-centred care that leads to changes in hearing health behaviors and lead to social connectedness for people with hearing loss. Your work will benefit from the synergy gained by collaborating with colleagues in the Cognitive Hearing Sciences and Augmented Hearing research groups at Eriksholm Research Centre.

You will conduct patient-centered research to address some or all of the following: (1) Evidence of the relationships between social connectedness, quality of life and engagement in hearing healthcare using novel measures that illustrate the importance of hearing rehabilitation for wellbeing and function, (2) Changes in hearing health behaviors to promote awareness, uptake and use of hearing technologies to increase uptake of hearing instruments, and (3) approaches that promote positive HCP-patient interaction with a focus on patient-centered care to ensure engagement of HCPs in Oticon’s approach to rehabilitation. Your research will generate publications and presentations and will support hearing healthcare providers and their patients.

Research conducted at Eriksholm is applied and is conducted in close collaboration with leading scientists around the world. You will also have the opportunity to bring your ideas to fruition with colleagues within Oticon and the rest of Demant.

Your tasks will include:

  • Managing and participating in new and ongoing research projects
  • Contributing to dissemination of Social Hearing Science team projects though scientific publications, conference presentations, and through opportunities that arise at universities or local agencies.
  • Actively collaborating with colleagues in the Social Hearing Science team, with colleagues in other groups at Eriksholm, with university collaborators, and with colleagues in Demant on joint Social Hearing Science projects
  • Supporting collaborations and partnerships that can promote and advance Social Hearing Science projects.
  • Assisting with, or independently, writing and preparing grants, and seeking out sources of grant funding.

Your background

We expect you have a MSc in a hearing healthcare-related field and an interest in doing research. You also have experience with management of research projects.

On a personal level, you thrive in a role requiring you to be in contact with a broad range of stakeholders. You see taking on new tasks as rewarding and challenging, and you do so without hesitation. You are a fast learner and you have high drive. You have a friendly and open attitude.

We expect you to be fluent in both oral and written English.
