Who are we?

The DRC Standby Roster (Humanitarian Strategic Surge Capacity) is a team within the Partnerships, Advocacy & External Relations Department of the Danish Refugee Council. For over thirty years, the DRC Standby Roster has assisted UN agencies around the world by deploying experts to fill short-term capacity gaps in humanitarian emergencies. The Standby Roster is considered a leading partner to several UN agencies including UNHCR, UNICEF and WFP.

Working under DRC’s protection mandate, the DRC Standby Roster prioritizes deployments that have the largest potential for protective outcomes for people affected by conflicts and disasters. The term roster implies a list of carefully recruited and trained professionals, who are ready to be deployed at short notice. The DRC Standby Roster team manages three deployment schemes for UN operations globally: The Humanitarian Response Roster, the Resettlement Roster and the Registration Roster.
