Then join us as our new Application Architect within the Naval radar segment and use your technical and commercial expertise to deliver solutions to our customers.

This position is in our Business Unit Surveillance & Mission Systems (SMS); dealing with Radar Systems, Naval Solutions, Wind Farm Solutions, Mission Solutions, and Critical Infrastructure Protection.

The radar sensors are typically the central component of larger surveillance systems. In such systems are several sub-systems integrated, which aim to provide the best possible situational awareness under all weather conditions. As an Application Architect, you will get a key role in securing the optimal solution offered to projects in close collaboration with colleagues working with Sales, Program Management, Product Development, and Customer Services.

The Application Architects tasks

You can expect the working day to be varied and the priorities to shift from time to time. You should thrive working both alone and in teams, as most tasks will be completed in close cooperation with your colleagues.

As an Application Architect (System Engineer) in SMS Naval and C2 Programs, your duties will include:

  • Responsible for the technical part of tenders working closely with Sales and Bit Management.
  • Breakdown and obtaining a detailed understanding of customers’ requirements and how they match our product portfolio.
  • Support to sales, preparation of demonstration activities, verification of solutions, support to customer projects, and support to service engineers
  • Assist product management in transferring radar systems from development into off-the-shelf products when required.
  • Definition and documentation of advanced solutions based on standard products making sure that it is delivered to our customers on time.
  • During sales and execution of the projects, you may participate as the technical lead during integration and verification activities for example onboard a naval vessel.

You will be in direct contact with customers and end users. Therefore, a central part of your role will be to follow through and ensure that your stakeholders are continuously kept in the loop. You create understanding and commitment by addressing uncertainties and risks.

Your office will be in our facility in Lystrup, Aarhus, and you should expect up to 35 days of travel a year. Your primary location will be at Terma Lystrup but, you do also have the option to work from home when assigned tasks allow it.

Our success is secured in close collaboration with our highly experienced and professional colleagues within Sales, TEC, Production, and Technical Service as well as external suppliers, through continued dialogue and follow-up during the execution of advanced technology projects.

How to succeed in this position?

To succeed in this position you should ideally possess the following qualifications:

  • Educated as a BSc in engineering or similar technical education.
  • You might possess substantial knowledge of radar solutions.
  • Some level of naval or military exposure would be considered a plus.
  • As a person, you are highly analytical and have a deep technical understanding.
  • Can work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to deadlines and a structured approach to assignments describe you.
  • Always deliver quality with a service-oriented perspective.
  • Speak and write English fluently including being well-constructed in writing.

As a person, you enjoy working in an environment where two days are rarely the same. You have the innate ability to keep an overview even when juggling multiple, often complex, projects. Moreover, you like being outgoing and are excited about using your ability to create connections to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders alike – including a versatile group of technical experts.
