Opportunity

Maersk is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, driving the growth of our business, rethinking how we engage with customers and partners, and shaping the way global trade flows across our network. Our software and technology play a central role in creating value for our business and customers. UX and design are at the heart of what we do, shaping intuitive experiences that help our users work more efficiently. To support our growth and continuous improvement, we are looking for a UX Designer to join our UX team in Transported by Maersk for a 12-month maternity cover.

What we offer:

As a UX Designer at Maersk, you will gain broad business knowledge of our global operations and understand how complex technology supports the transport and logistics industry. You will be exposed to a diverse and challenging range of business issues through regular engagement with key stakeholders across all levels of management.

You will work within the development unit, supporting the logistics and services teams in Transported by Maersk (TbM). You will help develop business-critical tools that support our internal users worldwide. Our applications balance rich datasets with system integrations, providing stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of incoming and outgoing containers.

Key responsibilities:

As a UX Designer, you will work across the design cycle—understanding user needs, creating conceptual and detailed designs, and validating them.

Your daily tasks will involve designing one or more applications. Collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team of product owners, UI developers, and software engineers, you’ll contribute to building applications that optimize our operations. You will focus on various design tasks, including research, wireframing, and validation, while also playing a key role in refining application scope and functionality.

You will work closely with fellow UX designers to ensure consistency across applications, providing and soliciting feedback on designs.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is eager to:

• Transform conceptual ideas into useful and valuable product experiences.

• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to create cohesive and engaging experiences from conception to launch.

• Develop user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and production-ready specs.

• Work with Maersk’s broader design community to maintain a consistent and cohesive experience across products.

• Provide and solicit feedback to continually raise the quality bar.

• Advocate design thinking and a user-centric approach to design.

• Identify user research needs and conduct usability tests.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you likely have:

• A MA/MSc in HCI, product design, or a related field and a few years of experience in product, interaction, or information design.

• Familiarity with design tools like Sketch, Axure, and Figma (we use Figma).

• A strong and clean visual design sense.

• Experience working in an agile development or iterative UX environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.

• The ability to work independently with stakeholders while collaborating with fellow designers.

• A proven ability to communicate ideas and design rationale clearly, both verbally and in writing.

• Experience with enterprise UX (a plus).

• Experience working with design systems (a plus).

How to apply

If you're interested, please submit your application in English, including your résumé and portfolio, showcasing real-life experience across the full spectrum of design thinking, visual design, and interaction design.
