We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Lead UX Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment working with complex design, business, and tech challenges. So if you are up to the challenge of building apps and platforms that improve our clients’ investing activities, you might just be the person we are looking for!
The Role
As our new Lead UX Designer you will be managing our “Self-Directed” Design Team which focuses on building apps and platforms for all our clients who want to invest on their own.
The self-directed investment services are a core part of our offerings at Saxo and where most of our revenue is coming from. The last couple of years we have also expanded our target audience for self-directed investing to include retail investors (like you and me!) and not just professional traders.
How do you succeed
You will have two UX Designers reporting directly to you (currently hiring for one of them) and at the same time you will be a part of our bigger design organization where we are a mix of UI and UX designers covering all B2C and B2B journeys at Saxo. On a high level you should cover these areas:
- Manage the team’s roadmap, priorities, and activities to create high-quality solutions that provide great experiences for our clients.
- Facilitate user-centered processes for other designers and stakeholders by including market analysis, data, customer feedback, user research and technical constraints/opportunities in the team’s workflow
- Quickly and thoroughly create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives.
- Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
Your profile
We are quite ambitious at Saxo so we often have multiple projects running simultaneously. So you need to thrive in some level of chaos while at the same time supporting your team with structure like priorities and focus. You should be able to check most of these off:
- Experience leading a small team of other designers.
- +5 years of hands-on user-centered product design experience.
- Working with cross-functional project teams (like research, content, development, etc.) to reach business and user goals.
- Guiding discussions regarding when to build for ‘the future’ and when to build something immediately implementable.
- Proactively identifying pain points in the end-to-end experience and addressing them with stakeholders.
- Demonstrating use of metrics, requirements, constraints, and creativity to provide optimal solutions.
- Continuously improving design processes and tools to enhance productivity and product quality.
- And in general asking questions, taking risks, and championing new ideas.
- Bonus: Prior experience working in fintech or other complex, technical environments.
- Bonus: A strong personal interest in investing and trading.
