System Test Engineer
System Test Engineer with a flair for Test Automation
Do you have a passion for automating test of complex integrated systems? Will you thrive in working with our holistic systems, where connectivity to phones, electro-acoustics, software and hardware all must come together in an integrated solution to serve the end users? Can you see yourself as a central figure in designing and preparing and executing mostly automated or semi - automated tests in a company where these are high on the strategic agenda?
If the answer is “Yes” you could be the person we are looking for to join our Systems Integration and Verification department.
Join a team of highly skilled and dedicated System Test Engineers
As a System Test Engineer, you will report in the line to a test organization and some of the time you will be a part of a feature team (Scrum like) where we test and develop features concerning connectivity from Hearing instruments to phones and other connectivity devices.
You will be joining a department consisting of 12 very skillful System Test Engineers. We are a key player in test design and test execution from requirements/prototype to final verification. In this setup you will be reviewing and analyzing system requirements for testability within the development department, designing automatic tests, executing the tests and documenting the results.
Besides the daily dialogue with your close colleagues, you can look forward to interfacing with the rest of Oticon’s big R&D organization.
Your main tasks will be:
- Reviewing, analyzing and discussing system requirements for test ability
- Creating test design involving all stakeholders from both requirement, development and test
- Creating test cases
- Automating test cases with XML/Matlab based tool
- Executing test cases
- Updating/automating test cases for already released functionality
- Documentation of executed tests
- Assess what makes sense to automate considering return of investment.
- Give feedback to framework developers when need for bug fixing, improvement or new functionality to improve automation framework
- Debug and critically assess test output in order to provide constructive feedback to developers
- Experience with automated tests for integrated systems
We anticipate that you have experience with test within complex systems composed of multiple software and hardware platforms, wireless technologies and protocols, and compatibility between devices. You have gained this experience within e.g. the medical device industry, mobile phone industry or other relevant industry. We also accept applications form newly graduates if the content of the education fits to this position.
We use Matlab and XML in development work of automated test cases, so experience in programming/scripting is needed.
In order to be able to spare with automated test framework developers, experience with object orientated Programming is an advantage.
If you are ISTQB certified it will also be an advantage.

As a system test developer in Systems Integration and Verification, you will have a large network within the organization and as such it is necessary for you to be open, outgoing and to excel at communication and coordination. Your approach to your work can be characterized as structured, systematic and analytical. You possess the ability to find solutions in a complex environment. You work well both with details and in the wide perspective in finding the complete solution.
