Health & Work Environment Specialist



SAS Health & Work Environment team is responsible for ensuring that SAS is a healthy and sustainable workplace. We are now looking for a Health & Work Environment Specialist to join our skilled team working with both strategical work environment areas to reduce sickness rates and occupational injuries, as well as more operational areas as medical follow-up and rehabilitation. Our team of 4 are also making sure that SAS work environment is according to regulations, agreements and internal policies. Our Health & Work Environment (HWE) team is located in all three Scandinavian countries and we are a center of expertise within HR.

Challenges you will work on



  • You will drive, develop, and lead changes through proactive health initiatives to increase presence at work and to decrease work related injuries.
  • You are the expert support for HR and drive the work on the leader’s compliance with regulations regarding work environment, sick leave and rehabilitation.

  • You are responsible, in collaboration with the Scandinavian HWE team, to update policies and processes regarding the health and work environment area in Denmark.
  • The role is strategic where you focus on developing and improving our already high goals in proactive health work in all groups of SAS employees in Denmark.
  • You will strategically lead and coordinate the activities on proactive health and in addition coordinate the work environment management together with other WE people in the functional units.
  • In collaboration with HWE team you will develop and support HR and leaders with web-based leader tools.
  • You will drive and develop the occupational injury registration system as well as drive and develop the leaders learning within the WE area.
  • You negotiate contract with external vendors within the WE area


To be successful in this position, we believe you should have:



  • At least 4 years of work experience within the proactive health and work environment area
  • A post-graduate degree in relevant areas, preferably in work environment, proactive health pedagogics, health related educations
  • Experience from the proactive health and work environment area where you have driven both strategic and operational issues
  • You are familiar with current regulations within national sick leave, rehab, and work environment legislation to be able to support and advise on issues related to employee health and safety
  • Competence to work with organizational, physical, and psycho-social work issues
  • Experience from working with HR KPIs in a structured way providing people related insights to managers
  • Knowledge in national work environmental laws is preferred
  • English, Scandinavian – fluent (written and spoken)
