The QA/QC engineer ensures proper execution and maintenance of QA/QC policies, programs and management systems in order to comply with company and industry standards.

Fehmarn Belt Contractors I/S (FBC) is a Danish partnership owned by a consortium comprising of Dutch enterprises Boskalis International B.V. and Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors B.V. Boskalis and Van Oord are leading marine contractors specialized in dredging, offshore, offshore wind and other maritime services. The QA/QC Engineer understands and is able to communicate our quality (WoW) policy and programs. He/she can communicate and cooperate properly with clients and stakeholders. The QA/QC engineer ensures proper execution and maintenance of QA/QC policies, programs and management systems in order to comply with company and industry standards.
Key tasks/Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
- Actively supporting the organization on QA/QC related matters and facilitating QA/QC training/familiarization.
- Achieving results by understanding the added value of our QA/QC role for the business and project: providing QA/QC knowledge, documentation and deliverables like Quality Control (contributing to Inspection and Test plans, project requirements and Quality Surveillance (inspections on site)).
- Lead by example: be a professional QA/QC representative also for clients and stakeholders.
- Providing feedback, report and advise management to increase QA/QC knowledge and awareness by initiating and organizing training, assessments, client audits, internal audits and sub-contractor audits.
- Analyzing and assessing processes for the benefit of complying to QA/QC policies, systems and programs. Analyzing, assessing and continuously improving corrective measures. Keep relevant colleagues engaged in improvement processes.
- Providing input for the improvement of QA/QC policies and programs. Translate and help implementing QA/QC programs and policies into business and project processes.
- Coaching and facilitating the process and providing training on-the-job and directing of reports.
- Being an ambassador, driven by intrinsic values, for the QA/QC programs & systems
Required knowledge/experience
Education/certifications:
- Higher Professional Education (Bachelor) or University (Master) Level preferably Engineering or Civil Engineer
- QA/QC education/certification on bachelor level or auditor level and knowledge of ISO/NEN/OSHAS
- Proven knowledge of ISO10005/10006/31000 & ISO9000/9001
Experience:
- 5 - 7 years experience in supporting of (project) organizations related to QA/QC, preferable in maritime / oil & gas environment
- Basic knowledge of facilitating continuous improvement processes
Other requirements:
- Advanced skills in ICT Office applications (Office365 and Sharepoint online)
- Follow the instructions and execute the work method by adhering to the relevant QA/QC procedures as described in standards and methods.
- Independent worker
- Self starter, experienced in working in a global environment and dealing with cultural differences
- Good command of English (written and spoken) – Danish is preferred but is not a requirement
- Willing to work rotationally
- No 9 to 5 mentality
