In our Offshore business unit we are looking for an experienced people manager for our Documentation and Safety in Design team in Denmark. Siemens Gamesa is a world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of wind turbines, and this role represents an opportunity to take your career to the next level within our dynamic organization.

How to contribute to our vision

Documentation and Safety in Design is a team of 15 people - consisting of process and safety engineers. The team is responsible for creating and maintaining work instructions that describe assembly, installation, and commissioning procedures in line with design and specific on-site practice. The team is also responsible for creating risk assessment on work instructions to ensure that all risks are incorporated and appropriately reflected in work instructions. The team collaborates closely with a sister team in Bangalore, India.

As the team lead you are responsible for allocating resources to the various execution projects. You are also responsible for enabling and empowering the team members to be successful ensuring timely delivery and excellent quality and consistent adherence to formal processes and procedures. Setting clear goals and monitoring team performance and reporting on metrics are also important tasks.

The team is currently implementing a content management system (TechPub Studio). You will be involved in driving the implementation to ensure a high degree of re-use and consistency in the documentation.

Your main stakeholders outside the team are project and engineering managers and you will be cooperating closely with the documentation governance team that sets the standards for quality and processes for documentation in Offshore in general.

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.

You hold a degree within a relevant area, you are an experienced people manager and you know how to manage your employees at a distance in a global context. You have several years’ experience in technical documentation, including working in content management systems and other documentation tools and working according to documentation-related standards.

In this role it is important that you continuously improve existing processes and that you understand the customers’ and end users’ needs and requirements.

You have a strong focus on quality and take pride in making sure that your team delivers as promised. You know how to set targets and set up, track and report on KPIs.

As a communicator you are extremely strong with great people skills and good persuasive ability. The role has a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally, so confident networking is key. Your English is of a very high standard - both spoken and written.
