We are currently looking for an experienced Hardware Systems Engineer to be part of the project department in our Command & Control (C2) organization in Herlev, Greater Copenhagen area.

We are looking for a Systems Engineer with specific focus on the hardware part of the systems. You will work in our C2 End-2-End Project Systems Engineering team within our C2 technology organization in Herlev. This part of the organization is primarily responsible for our C2 Naval system, C-Flex, that provides situational awareness et. al. for surveillance, maritime safety, and combat purposes at sea.
As a HW Systems Engineer you will be part of a team of experienced Systems Engineers tasked with project execution from proposal to customer delivery.
The C2 organization counts around 80 highly engaged colleagues and is an area of great focus and importance for Terma. Within the C2 organization in Herlev we work in stable, interdisciplinary, and self-managed teams based on agile principles.
As a Terma C2 HW Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the full array of aspects – from understanding customer needs, proposing solutions through requirements breakdown and analysis - and to validation and verification of the system onboard the customer’s vessel.
Therefore, you will have a wide range of interfaces and stakeholders - and a close cooperation with other project participants, counting among others: Systems Engineers (Hardware, Software, Mechanical, and Electrical), Software Engineers, Testers, and Project Managers for the entire project.
Through your tasks you will acquire an increasing responsibility of the overall system functionality and performance.
You will be responsible for requirement management and definition of architectural solutions, including partitioning the complete system into sub-systems, as well as defining the interfaces between these. Furthermore, you will be responsible for verification and validation of the complete solution in cooperation with test engineers.
Due to the nature of our systems, documentation of all aspects of development is needed, hence a high degree of quality and visibility is expected in all your written material.
You have a relevant education, i.e., a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, data science or similar. A background as a naval officer with deep knowledge of weapons or engineering is also highly welcome.
Preferably, you have at least 5 years of experience in developing systems, including hardware as well as software, from the initial idea until end-of-life of the system.

Your experience and education
You have a relevant education, i.e., a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, data science or similar. A background as a naval officer with deep knowledge of weapons or engineering is also highly welcome.
Preferably, you have at least 5 years of experience in developing systems, including hardware as well as software, from the initial idea until end-of-life of the system.
Additionally, you can put a checkmark at most of the below:
- You know precisely how to develop hardware systems on block level.
- You have a relevant knowledge of working with systems at a high abstraction level, e.g., from product development tasks and/or customer specific project deliveries.
- You have a broad experience of working with embedded computers, servers and workstations, and with the relevant network/infrastructure.
- You are used to and thrive with producing system specifications and you can carry through the technical solution according to these specifications, from the initial idea until end-of-life of the product.
- You naturally understand how to ensure testability, ease of maintenance, and reuse through your designs.
- Experience with military or marine standards regarding requirements, compliance verification and documentation is a definite plus.
- Experience with agile development methods (Scrum) will likewise be an advantage.
