Ballard Power Systems Europe is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Technology Solutions Team where you will become a part of a dedicated team with 12 other colleagues located in Denmark and Germany. As an Electrical Engineer you will be a part of a department that designs, produces and commissions customer-specific solutions based on Ballard fuel cell solutions, which include fuel cell power modules, DC to DC and DC to AC power conversion, battery technologies and more.
As an Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for designing, drawing and commissioning electrical cabinets and installations for fuel cell power systems in high kilowatt and megawatt scale. You will be responsible for both control systems, mainly 24VDC and power systems, both traditional AC and DC power systems in kilowatt to megawatt range.
You will work with PLCs, Safety Systems, Power Electronics (kilowatts to megawatts) and battery systems. We focus on high spec solutions for our customers and deliver reliable, powerful results.
Your daily tasks will be to design, dimension and draw electrical panels for the Ballard Product Solutions department. The work will also include inspection and commissioning of said electrical panels and installations, both onsite at Hobro and at customer sites.

Who are you?
We expect that you are an educated and trained engineer or equivalent within electrical, mechanical, automation, marine or similar. You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience where you have gained experience with electrical control, design and drawing of electrical cabinets, both control and power, assembly, test electrical documentation or similar.
You will be highly involved with our customers, thus some of your experience could be from a customer-faced position where you are used to communicating with customers.
It would be preferable with experience within Eplan, electrical prototyping/assembly and commissioning of electrical systems as well as fault finding at panel- and system level.
It is considered an advantage if you have experience with PLC Programing, electrical directives and standards, such as LVD, MD, EMC etc., and/or knowledge within the field of mechanical or electro-mechanical
Problem-solver with strong analytical skills
As a person you are self-driven, result-oriented and it comes natural for you to take ownership of your assignments while adhering to deadlines through strong prioritization and effectiveness. You would characterize yourself as a problem-solver with capacity to think critically and analytically to identify and resolve technical issues.
You liaison with several internal and external stakeholders for which reason it is essential that you have good interpersonal skills and is respectful of other people and their opinions to ensure seamless cross-functional interactions.
You have excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both in written and verbally in professional English. It is considered a huge advantage if you speak German.
Please be aware that this position will require the ability to travel up to 2-3 weeks each quarter.

- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Design and EL-CAD construction of switchboards and decentralized stations.
- Ordering components and correspondence with board suppliers
- Documentation and follow-up
- Ongoing optimization of standard drawings and work processes
- Maintenance of component database.
