SBJV is looking for an experienced OHS B Cooridnator or Qualified OHS Inspector wanting to become a Coordinator B, to join us on the unique journey to build the new Storstrøms Bridge.

On this project you will be a part of every aspect of the process, from the technical design, to the fabrication of all the individual elements, to the construction of the bridge itself, everything is being done on site meaning a varied and diverse set of challenges regarding health and safety.

Located in Vordingborg, Denmark, the new bridge will accommodate a two-lane road, a double-track railway for high-speed trains, and a shared use route for pedestrians and cyclists. Once complete, the new Storstrøm Bridge will be the third longest bridge in Denmark.

We are in process of building out our OHS team, to help cover the different, rapidly expanding job sites. We are therefore looking for an OHS Coordinator B to join our team or an experienced OHS Inspector capable of taking the Coordinator exam.

OHS Coordinator B:

Role discription:

• Oversee the Health & Safety matters during the fabrication and construction phases.
• Represents the Employer in Health & Safety matters and manage contacts and communications between the Employer and the Contractors.
• Read and review all tender documents of the project covering the Storstrøm Bridge project and then extract the H&S requirements and ensure their implementation in the construction of the sites.
• Be physically present and participate in the planning of the construction phases of the project (meetings and other) with contractor’s operatives as well as contractor’s designers’ and subcontractors’ operatives to ensure that the H&S requirements are well incorporated.

Qualifications:

• Is fluent in English.
• Can work under high pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Possess the ability to cooperate as a team.

Education – upload required certificate:

• OHS Coordinator B Certificate
• Course Stage I and II "The Road as Workplace”.
• Course the Danish Railroad _ “Pas på banen”.

Tasks:

• Provide a link between the design and construction phases as it relates to H&S coordination tasks and ensure a smooth implementation of assignments at completion of the design phase.
• Notify the Danish Working Environment Authority (Arbejdstilsynet) of progress on the construction site.
• Hold and chair a bi-weekly H&S coordination meeting on site with contractor’s H&S representatives, subcontractors and employer. Conduct safety rounds before each meeting in accordance with the Byggeriets Sikkerhedsmalinger (BS).
• Prepare material documenting the safety rounds and ensure their acceptance by the contractor’s representatives, as well as prepare the minutes of the H&S coordination meetings where follow ups of those forms are registered.
• During the construction phase, continuously update the PSS.
• Actively assist the contractor in developing and implementing its Emergency Response Plan.
• Actively participate with contractors and employers’ representatives in preparing for and implementing a safety incentive campaign for the project.
• Actively assist the contractor and its OHS manager in carrying out their duties in accordance with Danish Law.
• Provide training to induction training to people before entering the site.
• Conduct coordination meetings daily with the sub-contractors.

OHS Inspector:

If you have the required experience and is otherwise a good fit, we would extend the opportunity to send you on the course to get certified as an OHS Coordinator B and join our team as a new Coordinator.

Experience:

• 3-5+ years in a Supervisor or Foreman role.
• 5+ years relevant experience from major infrastructure projects, preferably of a similar scale and complexity.
• Previous experience in an international project or with international workers is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience within the OHS area, incl. knowledge of OHSAS 18.001.

Qualifications:

• Is fluent in English.
• Can work under high pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Possess the ability to cooperate as a team.
