As Regional Purchasing Manager NC & UK at ROCKWOOL you will be managing a team of 5 purchasers located in Vamdrup, Denmark and 4 located in the UK. The team has an informal tone, and work together purposefully to support the business in all matters related to purchasing.

With direct report to the Group Purchasing Director, you will be part of the Purchasing leadership team in the Group Sourcing & Procurement (GSP) function within the NC&UK region. The NC&UK role will manage two OPCOs the NC and the UK OPCO.

Day-to-day leadership and development of the Regional Purchasers will be your primary role while managing a diverse team across Denmark and UK is at the centre. Moreover, being able to have an operational view as well as a more strategic overlook within the team with a constant eye for optimisation is key. You will have full responsibility as well as the accountability for the NC&UK regions along with the ability to set the agenda in alignment with the company´s priorities.

Your main tasks are:

• Lead and drive transformation initiatives within the purchasing area
• Handle day-to-day team leadership with an operational focus as well as strategic overview
• Support stakeholder requirements within scope of GSP
• Function as the local point of contact and facilitate information flow between stakeholders, the Regional Purchasing Team and other functions within GSP
• Make sure that the team delivers on agreed priorities
• Building the capabilities of the purchasing function to more value-add activities such as supplier management, supplier development and local sourcing

Your qualifications are profound experience with management in a purchasing department knowing how to motivate and lead different personalities with various areas of responsibility. You have experience from working in an international environment with a complex set-up serving more than one country and cooperating closely with other functions.

The candidate must be able to work on a strategic level handling complex and long-term aspects as well as working hands on with purchasing dealing directly with suppliers and other stakeholders.

You have a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in a business-oriented edudation, however, practical experience is most important. You are fluent in English and Danish – orally and written.

You are a person with strong leadership skills as well as professional confidence, you set a clear direction for your team and follow through. You do not shy away from conflict and with your great people skills you handle them diplomatically. As a proactive leader, you have can-do attitude with the ability to drive change and challenge the status quo in a good way. And finally, you have outstanding communicative abilities which make you capable of establishing trust-worthy relations to stakeholders on all organisational levels.
