Your overall role as Global Category Buyer
Group Non Tobacco Material (NTM) Strategic Procurement is part of Group Operations that covers the end-to-end supply chain process i.e. plan, source, make, and deliver. The strategic procurement function, which serves the entire group globally, is within the source and is divided into tobacco, non-tobacco products and indirect. The role of the Strategic Procurement function is to generate value for STG using our size, strategic management of the portfolio of products and services that we buy including a critical view of the need for services and products, and finally accurate selection of suppliers.

As Category Buyer NTM you are responsible for the following:
• manage the procurement process in an efficient and effective way for an assigned group of products i.e. by acquiring current and future requests from the organization at the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) and lowest risk to the supply line.
• set up a bidding process to bid on specific products initiating RFQs.
• prepare, negotiate, close and manage supplier contracts in a critical and competitive way. In this way, you secure top quality, best prices, and short lead times.

What’s needed for you to succeed?
You have actively been involved in procurement activities of direct materials (preferably, but not necessarily, packaging materials: cardboard, metal, papers, flexibles etc. and ingredients) for a minimum of 2 years where you have acquired experience in supplier negotiations, stakeholder management, contract management and project management. Ideally, you come with a background in FMCG company with a proven track record. Ideally, you have a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Economics or similar discipline. It is important that you take leadership naturally and have high professional expectations for yourself and your colleagues. You communicate and sell your ideas effectively and have the ability to work with various stakeholders, colleagues and vendors. You are ready to work autonomously at a distance. You understand the value chain in large organisations and see the bigger picture. Finally, you have excellent communication and presentation skills, work fluently in English and use data to drive evidence-based decision-making.

As formal requirements you have:
• 2+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or other supply chain functions
• International mindset and skilled at collaborating across functions in an international company, managing relations, vendors and other stakeholders at various levels in organizations
• Proven track as an experienced negotiator
• Proven and firm project management experience
• Excellent communication skills, spoken and written
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Economics or similar discipline
• Complete command of the English language
• Driving license (B)

We offer a challenging job with a competitive salary. The job is currently located in Eersel (NL), but will be relocated this year to Waalre (NL).
• A one-year contract for 40 hours per week with the prospect of a permanent contract;
