The workplace will be in Shanghai, and many of our suppliers are situated within the Jiangsu region. Formally you will be employed by DI (Dansk Industri) but you will be working solely for European Energy, and we will see you as part of the team as well as the company.
Your new team
The Technical Sourcing Manager will be part of our EPC Sourcing & Procurement team, which is part of European Energy’s EPC department. The EPC department holds the overall responsibility for the design, planning, procurement, and management of our projects during the ready-to-build and construction phase. We work with professional suppliers, partners, and sub-contractors for the completion of our sites.
Your new role
The Technical Sourcing Manager holds the responsibility for handling the QC relevant activities and involves initial technical discussions, mainly with our Chinese suppliers such as PV modules, substructure related components and electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgears etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail to maintain high quality standards.
You can expect some travel activity, approximately 10-20%.

Your new role
The Technical Sourcing Manager holds the responsibility for handling the QC relevant activities and involves initial technical discussions, mainly with our Chinese suppliers such as PV modules, substructure related components and electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgears etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail to maintain high quality standards.
- Handle all communications with third party auditors for e.g. PV modules inspection (definition of the scope of inspection, RFQ, price analysis, production follow up, reports collection etc.).
- When issues arise during the inspection, be the first contact person, analyze the problem, escalate if necessary.
- Contractual sections related to QC, qualifications of new suppliers (e.g. PV modules) and negotiation of deviation matrix.
- Hold meetings through the PV module production with the inspector and manufacturer on the measures to improve.
- Inspection reports management.
- Analyzing and obtaining the traceability documentation (primarily for PV modules supply chain).
- Gather and store documentation/certification at the end of a production.
- Market assessment on technologies, become the technical expert on products such as PV modules, prepare decision material for timing of technology shift (e.g. Topcon vs. HJT vs. Perovskite).
- Focal point for coordination of all technical discussions between Chinese Suppliers and EE HQ.
- Support technical evaluation with HQ engineers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues and coordinate improvements.
- Be present during factory audits of new components and be able to qualify the suppliers in terms of ISO 9001.
- Handle all communications with third party auditors for third party inspection of other components (RFQ, price analysis, production follow up, reports collection etc.).
- Other components inspection reports management.
- Monitor supplier’s performance.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the products meet EE requirements.
- Report deviations to S&P Manager and QHSE team HQ.
You can expect some travel activity, approximately 10-20%.
Job prerequisites
- Bachelor or master's degree in electrical engineering or similar.
- 5 years+ experience from a relevant technical specialist or engineering role.
- Proven skills in quality management, supplier quality and / or technical inspections. PV industry knowledge or experience is a must.
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on all technical subjects related to solar projects through the full development life-cycle and transition to construction and operations.
- Wanting to acquire the basics of a variety of subjects relating to renewable energy including civil and electrical engineering designs and detailed drawings.
- Proficient knowledge of full suite of Microsoft Office software; high proficiency in Excel and Power Point required.
- Language skills: Proficiency in English and Chinese language.
