As our Senior Buyer your main task is to manage a select group of key apparel suppliers with focus on negotiating prices, booking production capacity and fabrics. This is done in close collaboration with our planning team.
Furthermore, one of your main tasks will be to coach a small team of buyers, junior buyers, assistant buyers, and trainees. This means that you will have to make sure that the team understands their assignments and feel at home in the team and in hummel in general. Therefore, it is important that you find it interesting to show others the right direction.

Please note that while the position offers plenty of opportunity to coach and supervise a small team, the staff responsibility lies with our Head of Buying.

Your work assignments
As our Senior Buyer your main task is to manage a select group of key apparel suppliers with focus on negotiating prices, booking production capacity and fabrics. This is done in close collaboration with our planning team.
Furthermore, one of your main tasks will be to coach a small team of buyers, junior buyers, assistant buyers, and trainees. This means that you will have to make sure that the team understands their assignments and feel at home in the team and in hummel in general. Therefore, it is important that you find it interesting to show others the right direction.
In your everyday work you will:
- Place seasonal orders and in-season replen as/when necessary
- Place NOOS orders and follow up on deliveries
- Manage the critical path on seasonal products to ensure deliveries in time for planned pick dates
- Re-negotiate prices at regular intervals on NOOS products to maximise profit without compromising on quality
You should expect traveling days in this position.

We imagine that our new Senior Buyer is a people person, who has an analytical mindset and are great with numbers. In your daily work, you are proactive, structured, and solution oriented. In this role it is important that you like to work with different cultures and that you are a strong negotiator, as your will be negotiating different prices.
Furthermore, you have the following skills:
- You have a degree in Purchasing or Business Management
- You are an experienced Buyer ready to take the next step up or a Senior Buyer
- You have experience from the apparel industry
- You may have experience leading a small team, but this is not a requirement
- You must be fluent in both written and spoken English. Danish is a plus
