About the department

We are close to 120 employees in Corporate Procurement located in Bagsværd Denmark and along with the Global Procurement organisation, we manage Novo Nordisk’s total external indirect spend of more than 25 billion DKK. We are a diverse team partnering with key stakeholders across the full Novo Nordisk value chain and work closely with our global suppliers.

The position

The Master Thesis Student Programme in Corporate Procurement is an opportunity for ambitious students interested in writing their Master Thesis to collaborate with the world’s largest diabetes company. It is a unique chance to develop personal competences and enhance future career opportunities.

Successful applicants will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with a designated Corporate Procurement department on a real-life business case and you will be given access to our internal data. Current business case topics that we are keen to collaborate with students on are:

  • Procurement digitalisation. How are best practice companies doing this and what are the implications, benefits and challenges?

Ideally, we are looking for one team of 2 people to collaborate with. The successful applicants will receive an introduction to Novo Nordisk as well as the Master Thesis Student Programme and be allocated a research sponsor specifically for your case. You’ll have access to our office space, and we’ll give you a laptop each to use. Novo Nordisk conditions require a signed confidentiality agreement, prior to sharing our internal data, and an internal review of the completed Master Thesis prior to submission.

  • Internship Period: 3-6 Months
  • Working hours: 2-3 days per week
  • Start Date: 01 February 2020
  • There is no paid remuneration.
  • A Danish full-time work permit is required

Qualifications

We only hire the best. Successful applicants are Master's degree students (e.g. in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, supply chain management or the like) with a top 20% GPA, an international mind-set, experience from studying abroad and 1-3 years of relevant work experience next to studies.

  • You aspire to work in procurement, management consulting or in a large international organisation upon completion of your studies
  • You have natural leadership skills and high professional expectations for yourself and your colleagues
  • You can communicate clearly and concisely and are comfortable giving presentations
  • You work, speak and write fluently in English
  • And you are in the first or second year of your master studies
