In this position you will get the opportunity to both influence our overall outsourcing strategy and direction for the area and manage partnerships as well. And you will do it together with skilled and dedicated colleagues in a very well-functioning team with offices in Denmark and the US.
Manage all aspects of collaborations with our external partners
Your overall focus is to ensure that we have the best possible vendor set up with the right processes, systems and good relations to stakeholders internally and externally. You will both add strategic vision and work hands-on in order to manage all aspects of collaborations with our external partners. Your responsibility includes to:
Contribute to optimization of our overall governance set up, vendor oversight and performance evaluation – including outsourcing and vendor strategies
Set a strategic direction when the need to outsource an activity emerges
Handle contractual negotiations inc. budget negotiations
Monitor and oversee vendor performance and implement follow-up actions
Act as trusted advisor to our internal customers in their collaborations with CROs, CMOs and external partners and ensure stakeholder engagement
You will collaborate and liaise closely with multiple internal stakeholders such as Senior Management, Clinical Project Managers, Clinical Operations Leads, R&D Quality, Global Procurement, R&D Legal, etc. Your road to success will to a wide extent depend on your ability to deliver advice in a respectful and always professional way – you must be able to balance when to stand your ground and when to seek the pragmatic solution.
The preferred location for this position is either at the LEO Pharma HQ in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen or, for the right candidate it might be possible to work from any LEO office in the world.
You can look forward to travel 20-25 days per year (in normal non-Corona times). Most of the travelling you plan yourself to match your calendar.
8-10 years of experience within clinical outsourcing or global sourcing management
We are looking for a profile with the experience and people skills to navigate safely in a very complex setting with multiple stakeholders and agendas. This also calls for your communication skills including your ability to tailor your communication to your audience with due respect to professional and cultural differences. As you will join an organisation in transformation in a role where the only constant is change, you must thrive on facing changes to your plans and prioritisations on a regular basis and not let this influence your personal well-being. As part of a small team with great responsibility, you must also like to share your knowledge and your optimistic belief in that there always is a way forward – and help your colleagues. Additionally, your CV comprises:
A Master’s degree in Life Science, Business Administration, or equivalent
8-10 years of experience within outsourcing including contractual negotiations and financial budgetting
Experince with alliance management with vendors
Experience with clinical development and fully outsourcing is a benefit
Experience with category management and vendor management
Solid English skills, written and spoken
