Sourcing/buying Manager for Wheat Kids Clothing
Wheat is one of the leading Scandinavian brands within high-quality, sustainable, and fashionable clothing for children. Our clothing is designed with the utmost care, using only the best materials and manufacturing processes.
We are based on a strong design tradition and one of the most important design parameters is our unique approach to hand-drawn prints. We are a strong team of 40 employees and are based in our CO2 neutral office and showroom in Gentofte with solar panels, natural material choices, yoga and training studio and other good things. Internationally we have offices and showrooms in Hamburg, Munich, Oslo and London. Last year we celebrated our 20th anniversary.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our purchasing activities and ensure an efficient and cost-effective procurement process. The ideal candidate has experience in sourcing of jersey, woven, and flat knit products, the ability to negotiate prices, and knowledge of production relocation.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain positive relationships with our existing suppliers.
- Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers including assessing their reliability, quality, and pricing.
- Negotiate price, quality, and MOQ with suppliers.
- Ensure pricing and post-calculation accuracy.
- Collaborate with designers on new collections, including participation in the ongoing product development process.
- Follow up on complaints with suppliers.
- Ensure documentation and compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Procurement Manager in the children's clothing industry is an advantage.
- Broad knowledge of materials, preferably including jersey, woven, and flat knit.
- Independent with a commercial mindset towards the market, customers, and tasks.
- Internationally oriented and proficient in negotiating-level English.
- Knowledge of production relocation and experience in managing the entire transition process.
- Structured, responsible, and proactive in task follow-up.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to build processes and relevant documentation.
- Experienced in travel and able to visit our suppliers a few times a year.
