DFDS is looking for a Sourcing Manager who recently transitioned into this role from a more junior position with a passion for data, eSourcing and eAuctions.

The Procurement department is progressing on a journey towards becoming a strong integrated partner to the business and we are focusing on further developing the Onboard and Indirect Procurement area, both from a strategic and an analytical point of view. With a broad exposure to the whole organization and top management, you will have the opportunity to impact this development process in collaboration with the rest of the team.

The right candidate will be supporting the development of a strategic vison for a multiple category area, in collaboration with Category Managers and stakeholders across the business. The Indirect Procurement team covers multiple categories such as Onboard (Food and beverage, Travel Retail, Indirect including Marketing). You will be asked to support all these categories.

We are currently recruiting for several positions. The team will consist of the Head of Indirect and Category Excellence, one Category Manager looking after Indirect, one Category manager looking after Travel Retail (vacant), one Category Manager looking after Onboard (vacant) and a Sourcing manager assisting across various projects (present job announcement).

Do you have the drive and capabilities to support the Indirect team and our stakeholders to become a success?

In collaboration with the Category Managers and our stakeholders across the organization, you will be responsible for optimizing DFDS’s global spend and general operational setup within the Indirect area together with the rest of the team. The goal is to continuously achieve the lowest possible total cost to DFDS (TCO) and to ensure minimal contractual and commercial risks for DFDS, while taking quality, risk, environmental and social aspects into due consideration.

You will be responsible for supporting various projects at different levels as well as supporting, as a super user, our eSourcing journey. More specifically, your tasks consist of:

  • Optimization of purchasing processes and procedures in close collaboration with Head of Indirect and Category Excellence
  • Active collaboration with Category Managers and internal stakeholders in identifying and carrying out selected projects
  • Drive analytical insights and “data crunching” across various categories
  • Support Category Managers in creating, running and analyzing tenders and visualizing tender results
  • Create, run and analyze tenders
  • Leading the preparation and executing negotiations in cross-functional teams
  • Finalize frame agreements with selected suppliers
  • Facilitate meetings with strategic suppliers and drive Supplier relationship Management
  • Act as a professional integrated partner to the team as well as business and challenge the status quo
  • Build a strong network both internally in DFDS and externally with suppliers and other stakeholders

  • Ensure adoption of tools and systems as Spend Management system, Contract Management system, e-Souring and e-Auction, dashboards etc.

You will hold a key supporting position in the implementation and maintenance of global/regional contracts and best practice sharing throughout DFDS with the purpose of optimizing supplier performance and general efficiency.

You have great interpersonal skills and feel comfortable in engaging with stakeholders on all levels of the organization. You enjoy a dynamic work environment full of challenges and thrive having a lot on your plate. Furthermore, you are a true team player with the ability to challenge the current situation based on strong communication, sharp analytical skills and change management capabilities.

  • You hold an academic degree, e.g. an M.Sc. in business administration
  • Preferably you have 2 years of experience from a procurement function covering strategic procurement, supplier performance/management and supply chain management tools
  • Consultant-like profile (outgoing, dynamic, proactive etc).
  • Experience and knowledge about tender processes, execution and negotiation strategies are a plus
  • Project management skills, including ability to develop business plans, plan a project, drive problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a great ability to talk with stakeholders
  • Your English language skills, oral and written, are excellent and you are a proficient IT user
  • You thrive with creating data driven insights and can understand and scrutinize data in order to make business cases and take strategic decisions.
  • You like focusing on data visualization and are ready to support Category Managers with it
  • Embrace e flexible approach and capability to handle several projects at the time and projects within different categories
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Experience within eSourcing including eAuctions is a plus
  • As a person you are result-oriented, you have strong analytical skills and focus on customer’s and stakeholders’ needs

Travel days

In order to perform to the expectations of the role you have to anticipate up to 10-15 travel days a year post COVID19.
