We are looking for a competent and energetic Category Manager for IT Procurement with the ambition to set and achieve stretching targets for COWI. You will be responsible for optimizing our global spending related to key sub-categories within IT.
Our new Category Manager for IT holds a key position in the implementation and maintenance of global/regional contracts and best practice with a view to optimize supplier performance.
The Procurement area is identified by Executive Board as a key priority within COWI, so the position also entails a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a world class procurement function.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
You will continuously optimize and achieve the lowest possible Total Cost of Ownership and ensure minimal contractual and commercial risks while taking quality, environmental and societal aspects into consideration.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
You will most likely hold an academic degree, e.g. a M.Sc. in Business Administration or Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with deep interest in the IT area.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
You will continuously optimize and achieve the lowest possible Total Cost of Ownership and ensure minimal contractual and commercial risks while taking quality, environmental and societal aspects into consideration.
Yours tasks will include:
- Long term category strategy development and execution for key sub-categories
- Active collaboration with internal stakeholders in identifying and carrying out selected procurement projects
- Leading the preparation and execution of negotiations in cross-functional teams and finalizing frame agreements with selected suppliers
- Facilitation of executive level meetings and alignment of supplier strategies and collaboration
- Updating the stakeholders on the market situation and act as a professional business partner, challenging the status quo
- Network building and network development internally and externally.
- Your role has a global range and you will have a global impact in your area. Therefore, you can anticipate 10-20 travel days a year.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
You will most likely hold an academic degree, e.g. a M.Sc. in Business Administration or Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with deep interest in the IT area.
Furthermore, you have:
- Documented experience in strategic procurement, supplier performance and supplier management
- In-depth knowledge and experience on tender process, execution and negotiation strategies
- In-depth functional knowledge of supply chain management tools, techniques and processes
- Project management skills, including the ability to develop business plans, plan a project, drive problem solving and manage a project team.
- Experience in procurement in the consulting industry or an international organization is an advantage, but not a requirement.
