Job Description

Danfoss Global Procurement organization is looking for Global Category Manager, who would like to become part of a highly skilled and committed colleagues working closely together.
Our team is responsible for different product categories and placed at various locations.

On this position you will be developing supplier relationships and implementing category strategies. Your starting point is a deep understanding of the assigned category portfolio in terms of external supply markets, technology developments and internal Danfoss requirements. You will be driving the saving projects (TCO / strategic cost management) in collaboration with site purchasing managers, and you will establish approved supplier lists and implement supply base reduction plan. Moreover, you will be supporting project buyers to implement category strategy in projects. You will be also ensuring relationship mapping (internal/external), regular supplier performance reviews and clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
You will work full time on strategic sourcing and your agenda will be based on the agreed Danfoss (sub-) category strategy and BU priorities. Electro-mechanics components (Cable & Connectors) will be an important part of your responsibility.
You will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of finished products at the right price, creating strong relationships with our suppliers and ensuring the best possible quality and cost optimisation of a given product. In addition, you will be working closely together with our product managers and the rest of the procurement organisation. To succeed in this job, you will need to thrive on juggling priorities and navigating in the field of multiple suppliers and stakeholders.

As our suppliers are situated around the globe, the position entails approx.30 travel days per year.
You will report directly to the Category Director (Head of Category) and will be offered a unique opportunity to apply and develop your procurement knowledge in a highly dynamic and fast-paced organisation.

Background and skills:

  • Strong negotiator with solid networking skills and experience
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a procurement role, with category management and contracting knowledge.
  • Proactive self-starter with high drive, ambition and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Relevant educational background, e.g. a commercial education or an engineering background topped with solid commercial understanding, all backed by solid direct category management in an international organisation.
  • It is essential that you are result-oriented and have strong negotiation skills.
  • Moreover, you have an analytical approach to your tasks and are able to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • You master English at negotiation level, have diplomatic skills and are able to communicate at all levels.
