Product Sourcing Manager - Global Procurement

You will be part of Tactical Purchasing which is part of Global Procurement at Demant. We are a professional and visionary procurement team - characterized by high ambitions and a fun and informal atmosphere. In your role as Product Sourcing Manager, you will execute category strategies in the early stages of new product projects, and you will have a close cooperation with our category managers who will hand over the vendors selected for the projects in our launch programs, to you. Our launch programs have a duration of 6 months, and we launch new products 2 times a year.

Delivering Procurement Excellence
Your main responsibility will be to represent procurement in the early stages of new product projects, by consolidating and preparing project input, establishing procurement review of project milestones and participating in project meetings.

Managing projects across the supply chain and the business together with cross functional colleagues will also be a large part of your job. Your important internal stakeholders will be Category Management, R&D, Quality, and the Program Management team.

You will be working with a wide range of vendors across our categories. From here, you will make sure our vendors have the capacity needed in order to deliver to the production projects. Communicating to our vendors ensuring that they know what to deliver is essential in this role. This gives you an opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping initiatives related to optimizing costs, supplier and risk management.

Taking on the role, you can look forward to the following tasks:

  • Represent procurement in development projects and launch programs
  • Cost and spend analysis
  • Ensure supplier readiness through proactive supplier relationship management
  • Risk management approach towards assigned projects
  • Project management of procurement projects
  • Internal stakeholder management within Global Procurement as well within relevant projects

Furthermore, you can expect some travel activity in the range of 20 – 30 days per year.

You will work in a diverse environment together with global colleagues and stakeholders. In this position, you are guaranteed excellent development opportunities, as you will be trained and learn about all categories of direct procurement, such as marketing products, mechanics, electronics and transducers. If you already have experience within electronics, it is naturally considered as an advantage.

You are offered a great opportunity to work independently with the projects within your area, but also working in close cooperation with a professional team of category managers within procurement – all aiming for the same goal of creating excellent results in different categories across projects.

Your qualifications
At this point in your career, you probably have several years of experience within sourcing and direct procurement from a larger enterprise environment. You should be able, independently, to gain knowledge within the areas of your projects; hence, an interest in technology and an eagerness to learn is a prerequisite.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A relevant master or bachelor’s degree with a commercial or technical focus
  • Experience in sourcing and supplier relationship management and for your business acumen
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, and you are proactive and result oriented
  • An interest in driving procurement tasks as projects with many stakeholders
  • Experience with and understanding of standard ERP systems
  • An analytical approach that enables you to communicate based on facts. Preferably you have vast experience from working with development projects
