Do you know the EMS landscape and have experience with sourcing of electrical and electronics components? If you want to use your experience to further develop our internal capabilities within electronics supply chain then consider applying for the role as Strategic Purchaser.
As our new Strategic Purchaser, you will play a critical role in MCI’s journey towards the next generation of reefer machines that include new, modern platforms for the controller application and for remote communication. You will be responsible for management and execution of procurement activities, selection and handling business within Electronics outsourcing, electronics and electrical components. You will work closely with colleagues across MCI within Procurement, R&D, Production, quality and many other departments as well as with external suppliers.

• Overall responsible for the key component suppliers, distributors, and EMS contracts
• Leading the selection and approval of new suppliers together with relevant colleagues from R&D, Quality, etc.
• Driving total cost in new and existing products enabling MCI to offer the best product at lowest cost
• Maintaining prices in the bills of material and associated supplier agreements
• Being the main contact for electronics suppliers regarding change requests, including component changes, price negotiations and cost-down activities
• Supporting the development team with purchase of sample material, equipment etc.
• Providing inputs and comments to the supply chain strategies of new products
• Participating in and contribute to relevant project team meetings throughout the product development & launch process
• Continuously improving MCI best practices and guidelines

To qualify for this position, you need to:
• Have at least 5 years of experience in procurement of electronic components and/or electronics manufacturing services (EMS)
• Network within electronics components and manufacturing
• Have a good understanding of electronics, e.g. through an education in electrical engineering
• Have strong analytical and commercial skills
• Be assertive, pro-active and results-oriented
• Be a skilled communicator who are good at maintaining relations suppliers and colleagues
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
