FORCE Technology in Kgs. Lyngby is seeking a talented CFD Project Engineer to join our Numerical Team, which is part of the Department for Hydrodynamics and Aerodynamics within the business development unit Maritime, Air & Sound.
Our business development unit in Lyngby serves the global maritime and construction industries, offering advanced ship simulations and both experimental and computational evaluations of ships, offshore structures, buildings, and bridges to assess and optimize their performance.
While we are thrilled to welcome new talent, we are unable to offer relocation for this position.
About the role and key responsibilities
The Numerical Team delivers numerical simulations focusing on marine hydrodynamics and aerodynamics. Collaborating closely with our colleagues in the wind tunnel and towing tank, we assist our clients in all questions related to energy efficiency, sustainability, safety, and comfort.
We deliver a wide range of numerical simulations, including CFD hull flow and propulsion analysis, hull resistance optimization, seakeeping and maneuverability assessments, CFD wind simulations, and mathematical modeling of ship maneuvers. Our consultancy services support clients in design optimization and troubleshooting, while our R&D initiatives with both internal and external partners aim to enhance our methodologies and broaden our scope of service.

Our consultancy services support clients in design optimization and troubleshooting, while our R&D initiatives with both internal and external partners aim to enhance our methodologies and broaden our scope of service.
Your profile
As our new colleague, you will play a vital role in our computational activities and work in an international team of specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Modeling of problems related to marine hydrodynamics in CFD, analyzing results and result presentation as well as reporting
- (Parametric) optimization of ship hulls and maritime structures
- Development and refinement of our simulation methods and procedures
- Project management: guiding clients from initial contact through quotation preparation to results delivery and discussion
- Participation in planning meetings, workshops, and conferences
Key qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering, with a strong foundation in naval architecture
- Solid understanding of marine hydrodynamics
- Experience in CFD simulations and parametric optimization for maritime applications (familiarity with STAR-CCM+, CAESES, NAPA, and Rhino is a plus)
- Experience in MATLAB or Python

- You have excellent communication and presentation skills, both within the team and with international clients. Proficiency in English is essential.
