Your role as IT Architect

Working in collaboration with the infrastructure team, line of business and other Global IT members, you will design, implement and document critical and modern SCADA infrastructure solutions primarily based on Microsoft services and operating systems.

You will be involved in projects for implementation and upgrading our SCADA infrastructure including production network, high availability setup, automation interfacing, ensuring we live up to our strategy: Simplify manufacturing processes and systems, harmonize systems to further enhance production optimization and improve robustness.

You will support, troubleshoot, and develop existing SCADA environment to ensure a high level of performance and stability. In cooperation with Global IT team colleagues, you will be responsible for development of the SCADA server platforms owned by Global IT and implementation of security standards.

Additional to this, you will establish policy and strategy for the selection of solution architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency.

You will ensure to adhere to industry best practice develop standards and guidelines for the delivery of SCADA infrastructure and approved applications and you will have hands on activity during solution design and development.

A strong drive and project management skills will be an advantage, as the right technical solution is only one piece of the puzzle.

GxP Compliance and documentation are a part of our mindset, so experience and demonstrated ability to achieve compliance in an effective and useful way is an advantage.

Travel activity is expected from 15 to 30 days per year (post-Covid).

Fields of responsibility

• Design and maintain the ALK SCADA standard, including related infrastructure and components
• Participation in administration and design of the SCADA architecture
• Participate in managing existing SCADA platform, including testing and quality standards
• Evaluate and implementation of new technologies and centralized management
• Qualification of the SCADA solutions
• Responsible for training of super and end users
• Documentation of own area according to standards

Your qualifications

• Experience with various SCADA IT/OT systems and platforms, including security and data management
• Experience with Microsoft server platform and requirements for running SCADA systems
• Experience with troubleshooting of SCADA server technologies in local and in an enterprise environment
• Experience with implementation and design of SCADA systems
• Historian experience
• Experience with Equipment PC/HMI clients troubleshooting and upgrades
• Experience with automation and PLC environment, sensors and data management
• Knowledge with SCADA system monitoring and performance optimization
• Capable of documenting own work and conduct training of team members
• Used to set standards for monitoring and documentation
• Proactive and analytical mindset as well as taking responsibility and lead technical projects
• Knowledge of GxP pharma environments is an advantage but not a prerequisite
• Fluent in written and spoken English

The team IT Operations in Global IT at ALK

IT Operations is responsible for a continuous and uninterrupted IT operation covering platforms, services and applications with 10 colleagues in the team and we are working closely together with IT Support and IT Infrastructure.

IT Operations is part of Global IT at ALK, being a global organisation of approximately 140 employees with three main hubs in Hørsholm, Madrid and Krakow and IT staff on our production sites and regional sales hubs in Germany, France and North America. Today, ALK has most IT competences in-house and you will have qualified colleagues across the globe.
